"HE WALKS ON WATER!"

Matthew 14:22-33 is one of my favorite story. I’d love to retell it.
It was already dark, and the disciples were in the middle of the sea. Well, not a calm sea. There was big waves, and uh, wind. Suddenly they saw someone walking on the water.
“It can’t be. It must be… It must be… GHOST!!! AAAAA..” They were in the mid of sea, and the mid of fear.
But then that man said, “It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Is it Jesus? It may be not.”
And the interesting part came. Peter answered, “If it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” He was a fisherman for years. Of course he knew that if he come out the boat then he will be drown.
Apart from that fact, as soon as he heard Jesus said “come”, he came out of the boat. And *TADAA* he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
But as he felt the wind, he was afraid, beginning to sink, then cried for Jesus’ help. Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him.
“O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Peter started with a good start, since he was the only one showing his belief. There may be some of his friends that believe that it was Jesus, but no one act.
The fact is that “believe” is a verb.
You can’t just believe and do nothing. If you believe, then act as it says. You can’t say “ I believe soon I will be able to bake a cake”, but not trying to. Or “I believe God can help me with my test”, but not studying.
Peter did. He talked to God, and when God answered, he believed. He experience the most exciting moment.
But then he felt the wind. Since beginning, the wind was already there even before they saw Jesus. In every journey, there will always be wind, something that will shake you, shake your faith, trying to make you down, stop, and gone.
The question is, “Would you let them do it? Would you feel them? Or you will only focus on God and all His saying?”
There may be a moment when you feel down and tired, but He is there. He is always be. As simple as stretching hand, He will catch you. You are never that alone.
Just don’t doubt.
“He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)

Start it with faith, finish it with faith.

God bless you
