Biji duren means durian’s seed. A strange name for a tumblog right? You’ll know why I named it so. Actually it’s a name from my special man - not a boyfriend, but soon-to-be. Hohoho I’ll write about him soon. He’s really special. But yeah, this posting is about “Biji Duren” name.
Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. (Matthew 17:20 NIV)
Matthew 17 talks about a seizures boy that can’t be healed by Jesus’ disciples. Why? Jesus said, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Hmmm, mustard seed. How big is it? Let’s see.
Oh, you must be kidding! It’s very small.
And btw, I’ll show you durian’s seed.
Compare those seeds! Jesus said that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move a mountain. Imagine if you have faith as big as a durian seed!
Of course it is only a parable.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV)
Faith is (ONLY) trust God, instead of the facts in front of us. It is the act of trusting God 100%, instead of 99,9%. It is the faith Jesus talked about. He didn’t talk about the size only. It is about 100% trusting God.
To trust God is to let Go(d)
Yeaaah, let go of anything that we couldn’t trust God to work on it, and of course let God make it into something we couldn’t even imagine.
Faith as big as durian seed
Now I’ll talk again about the “Biji Duren” name. I want to have a big faith as big as durian seed compared to mustard seed. Big faith works in a little possibility.
The less the possibility, the bigger the faith
It doesn’t mean I hope to face a hard situation. Who wants? No, thank you. But Hebrews 12 says:
God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’straining, the normal experience of children. Only irresponsible parents leave children to fend for themselves. Would you prefer an irresponsible God?
I want to have a big faith. I want to trust God in every details of my life, even the hardest one. Yeah “Biji Duren” is a prayer. This is a journal of faith.
Special thanks to a special man for giving this name, a prayer. Thank you for the companion in this faith journey.
Actually, it should be: God, thank you for giving me a partner. It means a lot. I’m ready for the further journey. Even if there is a lot of cry and not easy, I know it will be worth it. I love you God :)
